Hertford & District Foodbank
PLEASE NOTE THAT, DURING THE PANDEMIC, THE H&D FOODBANK IS ONLY MAKING HOME DELIVERIES. THIS IS THE SPRING 2020 SHOPPING LIST. PLEASE MAKE YOUR DONATION AT A LOCAL SUPERMARKET. THANK YOU
PLEASE SEE THE H&D WEBSITE WEBSITE FOR THE MOST UP-TO-DATE DETAILS
These are the details for the local Foodbank under normal circumstances only...
Where to find us
H&D Foodbank are members of the Trussell Trust Network and are based at the United Reformed Church, Cowbridge, Hertford SG14 1PG.
H&D Foodbank is open Monday - Friday, 4.00-5.00pm.
Donations of non-perishable food are always gratefully accepted during our opening times.
You may also leave donations inside St Andrew's Church. There is a Foodbank box in front of the notice board by the church office door - this is emptied regularly and donations are taken to the United Reformed Church.
What to donate
H&D Foodbank rely on food donations to feed local people in crisis. For current needs, please click here for the latest Shopping List - you are asked to be guided by this as there are often items that the Foodbank are short of (and we can tell you what we already have plenty of!). Thank you.
How to receive food
The Foodbank gives a minimum of three days emergency food to local people in crisis. To receive food, clients must obtain a voucher from designated frontline professionals in the Hertford area (professionals from statutory and voluntary organisations such as doctors, health visitors, social workers, Citizens Advice Bureau staff, welfare officers, the police and probation officers, identify people in crisis and issue them with a foodbank voucher). Find out more about how the voucher system works here.
